Among the vast collection of Buddhist scriptures there is a text seldom noticed yet exceedingly sublime — the Sutra Spoken by the Buddha on the Sea Dragon King. It records the solemn scene in which Sakyamuni Buddha, upon Vulture Peak, expounded the profound meaning of the Mahayana for the Sea Dragon King and his retinue, and accepted their invitation to propagate the dharma in the Dragon Palace.

A rare practice taught by Grandmaster Lu in 1990: the sealed vase becomes the Dragon, the Dragon becomes the Five Buddhas, and the vase — cast into the sea — carries the practitioner's wish to the Dragon King.
